Lobby Transit™ for Apple TV

Alex Serriere

Today, we’re thrilled to announce Lobby Transit™ for Apple TV, which makes it even easier to put real-time transit information in your office, lobby, or coffee shop.

TEECOM Lobby Transit

When we started building the earliest prototypes of Lobby Transit our goal was to create an app that would make it super simple for anyone to display real-time transit information in their space. We looked at many different platforms, but ultimately we chose to develop Lobby Transit for iOS because of how easy it is to download and install apps for the platform. Unfortunately, the hardware side is a bit more complicated: it’s not that easy to connect an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch devices to a large screen. The limitations of a platform with only rudimentary support for an external display and the additional effort required to purchase a special adapter meant that Lobby Transit for iOS didn’t offer the best possible deployment experience.

TEECOM Lobby Transit

We knew from the moment tvOS and the new Apple TV were announced that Lobby Transit would make a perfect addition to the platform and we’re very excited to share that with the world today. Like its iOS cousin, Lobby Transit for Apple TV currently supports three major Bay Area transit agencies: BART, Muni Metro, and Caltrain, but we have support for additional transit agencies under development. Choose a background and visual theme that complement your organization’s branding to make Lobby Transit look great in your space. And the in-app purchases offer additional enhancements including customizing the title bar message to make the display your own.
