Engineer at Heart
Andrew joined forces with the TEECOM Security TEEm six years ago, after a three-year stint at a construction consulting firm that worked on defects cases. With a degree in electrical engineering, however, his dream had always been to work for a true engineering firm. TEECOM gave Andrew the opportunity to test the waters on the security TEEm and he has never looked back. Andrew’s current goal is to broaden his scope by doing more telecom and audiovisual work.
Andrew is the epitome of a Bay Area social eater. He and his family love to check out new restaurants in the evenings. Spanish food being his favorite, he claims he has visited every tapas restaurant in San Francisco and recommends Esperpento, because it is inexpensive and absolutely delicious. He also enjoys Japanese food, but is still refining his palate for that cuisine.
Andrew’s prefer mode of travelling is solo. Exploring the unknown alone, he says, is refreshing, helps him clear his mind and recharge, and lets him learn a bit more about himself. Plus, his wife and friends don’t always share his preference for travel destination, such as Egypt, Asia, and India. Andrew is hoping to slip away from parenting responsibilities for a week or two this year to unwind and get the traveling bug out of his system.
With his wife and two-year-old daughter, Andrew and his family are three peas in a pod. They help ensure all of TEECOM’s events are a family affair by regularly attending the TEEm lunches and happy hours. Outside of work events, Andrew brings his daughter to exotic restaurants on a regular basis so that she is constantly exposed to the wonderful wonders of people and food. She recently tasted sushi for the first time. Yum!
