For over 16 years Eric has worked on the front lines of professional audio, in studios, on stage, during pre-production and design for events and installations, as well as in the trenches during implementation. This experience forged his extensive knowledge of audio engineering and systems design. Combine this with his experience as a manufacturer’s representative partnering with all of the key integration, consultant, and end user AV professionals in Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii, and the result is end-to-end expertise that benefits clients.
Eric and his wife make it a point to keep a trip on the books every year. They’ve ventured to mystical Iceland, taken a cruise to Belize, and explored the lush island of Kauai, to name a few. Knowing people across the globe is a great perk as they recently received a curated tour of Bali from a childhood friend who recently moved there. For random destinations they enjoy roadside bed & breakfasts, cozy lodges, and the funkiest AirBNBs. As long as you’re in good company, it’s an adventure worth taking.
Eric has been a musician since he was six years old. He has a rehearsal studio at home and is a member of Bay Area-based groups Alternative Ending and Star Service. Alternative Ending is a 90’s cover band, and playing drums for them takes Eric back to his paper route as a teen listening to Alice in Chains on his Walkman. As his alter ego, Eric is the lead singer for the experiential duo Star Service, featuring all original songs and tons of loops, synthesizers, and sound, lighting, and visual effects. Look out for Star Service’s new EP coming soon.
Engineering Ties to the Music
Eric also dabbles in the more technical side of music. He creates circuit boards and product designs for electronic instruments, develops custom midi controllers for clients, and conducts firmware programming. When he’s not engineering, jamming to nostalgic hits, or conducting costume changes behind a smoke machine, he’s also the live sound engineer for synth pop band vverevvolf. While running around and mixing with an iPad, he accompanies them to The Independent, the Great American Music Hall, PopScene events, and other venues and fine tunes the sound for optimal audience experience.
