Attention to Detail
An engineer was born when Gil’s grandfather gave him an electronics kit and a set of precision tools for his 10th birthday. Also influenced by his engineer father, Gil quickly discovered how things work and how to modify them to fit a specific purpose, sometimes even one unintended by the original design. That early-acquired mindset, paired with instinctual imagination and formal schooling, armed Gil with the tools he uses in his career and daily work at TEECOM. From a basic conference room to a complex command-and-control center, Gil’s attention to detail and approach to the design process makes for satisfied clients.
On the Look Out
Gil is always seeking his next adventure, so when he stumbled on a group of retired vets in the Marin Headlands who were rebuilding an abandoned Nike missile site, he was first in line to volunteer. With his background in technology and love of history, he was able to help restore the 40-foot nuclear rockets and launching platforms for preservation in the on-site museum. Urban exploration that leads to ultimate adventures, he says, can be done anytime, anywhere.
To some, listening to music is as simple as pressing “play.” Gil takes it to a higher level. He builds different audiophile systems to complement the intricacies of various musical genres, with dedicated systems for jazz, rock, progressive, and classical. He has even built a rather unconventional amplifier out of vacuum tubes.
On Another Level
Gil’s exploration doesn’t stop on land. He has taken adventure to another level with cave diving. In his own underwater cave south of the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, Gil puts his skills to the test venturing into the deep, dark underground where he finds hidden treasures with every dive.
