With a passion for math and science, Jessica majored in Bioengineering and also took numerous engineering courses in other fields to expand her knowledge. As a Designer at TEECOM, she keeps her skillset diversified by learning all disciplines (telecom, security, and audiovisual systems design) to eventually choose which field to specialize in. TEECOM is not only a “fun place to work” for her, but also a place where she can seriously launch her engineering career.
Back in college, Jessica went climbing outdoors at Pinnacles National Park with some friends and was hooked! She often hits her indoor rock-climbing gym before work to boulder and recently got into lead-climbing as well. Jessica says she enjoys the cerebral challenge of finding a solution to the route and then the physical challenge of executing what’s in your head to get to the top.
A Different World
Scuba diving is one of Jessica’s biggest passions. In middle school, she completed a report on French researcher and inventor of scuba diving Jacques Cousteau, which inspired her to become certified with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). She loves the feeling of immersion in an entirely different environment and has explored the waters of Catalina Island, Maui, and Belize. Diving the Blue Hole in Belize was a highlight for her as it was discovered by her hero Cousteau.
Jessica grew up with parents who were snowboard instructors so her love for the sport started when she was just three years old! She is a season-holder at Mammoth Mountain and hits the slopes at least ten times a year. During winter, she will often check the weather forecast ahead of time to plan the perfect trip to the mountain.
