At TEECOM, we love our technology. We’re always looking for ways to improve our work and communications processes, testing out new gadgets and apps. Thankfully Omar is here to keep everything straight for us. As TEECOM’s IT Systems Administrator, he debugs and deploys all our devices, maintaining the back-end infrastructure that’s the brain of every socialbuilding® platform. Omar is particularly interested in streamlining solutions through automation, and he has found a receptive platform for experimentation at TEECOM.
Omar recently discovered the low-tech appeal of camping. Not glamping – serious hike-it-in, catch-your-dinner camping. No toilets, no cabins. For his last camping trip, he and his girlfriend hiked four miles to a spot next to a running creek, hauling in tents and coolers. Omar finds balance in the ability to totally disconnect after being immersed in tech, and he hopes to do more of it.
A self-described proud “clichéd geek-nerd,” Omar spends a lot of his free time gaming. He’s built out his ideal gaming rig, buying all the components and fitting them in. He leans toward single-player role-playing games because they tend to have more story and reward multiple replays, and rather than the cutthroat competition of multi-player, he prefers to challenge himself.
Omar has been strumming the guitar since he was 13. He plays both acoustic and electric guitar, but favors the electric. His favorite tunes are the ones written by the bands that he listened to in middle and high school: Green Day, Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters, and Avenged Sevenfold. The first song he learned to play completely? Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).”
