As the senior acoustics design engineer at TEECOM, Tristen brings an extensive background of acoustics projects to the TEEm. She has worked on numerous residential, corporate, auditorium, parks, and outdoor spaces—with each one creating unique challenges and different design goals for her to solve. Tristen is constantly searching for her clients’ perfect acoustical solutions so that the final result of each project is the sound of a perfectly balanced, functional, and inviting space.
Deck of Cards
Do you dare take Tristen on in a game of cards? Whether it’s Liverpool, Poker, Rook, or Rummy, there’s no better way to bond than over a competitive, yet friendly, game of cards. Playing Liverpool can result in hands of 20 or more cards, so Tristen’s family devised a solution for children (and some adults) who struggle to skillfully hold a handful of cards. Take a shallow container, fill it with dried beans, stick your cards into the beans and, voila! You have your very own personal card holder.
When Tristen was a teenager, she was crazy about racquetball. Upon moving to the UK, Tristen discovered a new wacky version of racquetball – squash. For those wondering, “What in the world is squash?” it is a one-on-one sport for which you’ll want to have a good sense of space, unless you don’t mind being whacked in the head. And with how hard you have to swing your racquet at the low-bouncing ball, you don’t want to get hit. It’s surprising, even for Tristen, but squash has stolen her heart from racquetball.
After visiting Yellowstone, Tristen was blown away by the immense beauty of nature and fell in love with national parks. Although all she wanted was to escape North Carolina and visit all of the great cities of the world when she was younger, now she always looks forward to visiting family and exploring the nearby Great Smoky Mountains that she once took for granted. The wildlife she encounters during her adventures is one of the few things in life for which she will happily wake up early.
