Gap World Headquarters
San Francisco, CA
Located along the Embarcadero waterfront, the new Gap World Headquarters has become a San Francisco landmark. With a red brick facade and custom French limestone interior finishes, this 575,000 sf building is more than an office building; it is an art gallery with a removable atrium that accommodates a spectacular 60-foot tall metal sculpture commissioned for the client.
TEECOM designed the telecommunications and security systems for GAP World Headquarters and art gallery, along with two underground parking levels. These 200,000 sf underground parking levels include 5 lanes with bidirectional capability, guard booths, and integrated voice, data, and CCTV systems. TEECOM provided a fully designed construction documents package for both the telecom and security systems; coordinated the incoming service utilities for copper, fiber, and CATV services; and provided the design for the fiber interconnection to Gap’s 345 Spear Street office complex.
Behind the Walls
This spectacular headquarters features a comprehensive and highly effective security system. To avoid blemishes, TEECOM went to great lengths to conceal all systems ranging from telecommunications outlets to security cameras. With wires below the raised flooring, and video cameras in the skin of the building, TEECOM created the perfect cover-up for a behind-the-scenes technology operation. Custom faceplates and enclosures, including concealed cameras, were coordinated in great detail with the architectural team.
