Angie is an integral part of TEECOM’s workplace experience, shaping the firm’s culture by being the first point of contact, organizing Happy Hours, and making sure the always-essential espresso machine is still working. Coming from a background in the fitness industry, Angie joined TEECOM as a natural leader for our internal wellness program, TEECOMfit. She motives the TEEm to get out of their chairs and walk, do yoga, and rack up the FitBit points. In addition, she’s an administrative wizard, checking items off to-do lists like a boss.
Lucky the dog isn’t named after his fortunate rescue; he’s named after a Concrete Blonde song. This is a theme in Angie’s life: music rules. Her particular musical delivery system is records. She can spend hours thumbing through record crates in a dusty thrift store looking for the hidden gem. Her favorite finds include some good Santana, Stevie Wonder, and an old, old Fleetwood Mac record from when they were still a blues band, with Mick Fleetwood in drag on the cover (“English Rose”).
“It’s a cult,” jokes Angie of her obsession with Crossfit, the cross-functional fitness program. Angie sweats through Crossfit strength and cardio training four or five days a week. Her routine involves strength training, running, pull-ups, and the rowing machine. She feels miserable during it, but awesome afterwards, which keeps her coming back!
Dog and Cats Living Together
Two furry children occupy chez Larsen: one cat and one dog. And yes, they’re buds. They even sleep next to each other on Angie’s couch. Both animals are adoption success stories: Lola, the cat, was adopted from a shelter, and Lucky, the dog, was rescued from the parking lot at Angie’s wife’s workplace. “He was hanging out by the dumpster, and one of my wife’s co-workers took him a local shelter to see if anyone would claim him,” says Angie. “After no one claimed him for a week, we brought him home.”
