Growing up, Duncan traveled with his mobile engineer father following sports teams and producing events to be broadcast on television. Thus began his love for the audiovisual world. He then entered the design engineering and commissioning side of the industry as an integrator before joining TEECOM. As part of the audiovisual design group, Duncan strives for perfection with an uber meticulous nature to help tech-forward corporate clients scale and expand globally. When it comes to AV for enterprise clients, be it designing systems, reviewing specifications, or collaborating, he says maintaining a high level of detail is the most crucial and satisfying element.
Cycle of Life
Duncan’s grandfather was a circuit racer and took him along on rides when he was a child. He continued his interest in cycling and has participated in the Mountain Bike World Cup where he said, “it was an amazing and humbling experience…would definitely do it again.” Duncan also recently rode in the annual Bike to Hope event with other TEECOMers benefiting City of Hope’s research for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Duncan coaches little league for his four sons. With a six-year age range and busy schedules, he admits things can get a little crazy, but it’s all worth it to have those kids look up to him as a role model. He also participates in adult softball leagues himself. Duncan finds that playing and coaching are great outlets to stay healthy, spend time with his family, and give back to the community. Wrangling teams of ten-year-olds has also really enhanced Duncan’s time management and organizational skills, complementing his role at TEECOM.
Music has always been a huge part of Duncan’s life. He plays guitar and bass, and with folk as his genre of choice, he loves the banjo and has been playing for over seven years. Throughout high school and college, Duncan played in a few bands and tries to get together to jam with friends whenever he gets the chance. Singer/songwriter Robert Earl Keen is one of his top bluegrass/folk artists to listen to.
