Project Management 101
Early in her career, Renee learned customer service and how to keep a business running in the consumer mobile device industry. She transitioned into project management as a workflow coordinator, then moved into AV integration. Renee made the jump to TEECOM to expand her knowledge in construction. She appreciates the big picture and taking the time to develop client relationships. Renee’s ambition is to serve clients from embedded roles in which she is closely attuned to their needs.
Renee’s desire for fresh produce, along with selecting one’s own breeds and varietals, drove to an interest in gardening. Some of her favorite vegetables to grow include tomatoes, broccoli, kale, and varieties of lettuce. At the end of the day, she looks forward to watering and pulling weeds. This allows her quality time with her partner while he trims the trees. As a professional project manager, Renee reflects that gardening “is all about how you set it up.”
Once a year, Renee likes to escape the hustle and bustle and visit another country with her partner. Oaxaca, Mexico has been one of her favorite places to date. With the city’s mix of contemporary Mexican and Spanish culture, she observed the Zapotec influences through folk art. “The people are relaxed and friendly and incredibly worldly,” she says. Renee also spent a month in Ireland, where she enjoyed the natural beauty of the country’s cliffs and farmland, ts pub culture, and folk music. Both at home and abroad, creating and connecting with different communities is very important for Renee.
During her commute and time at home, Renee often reads or listens to books. She enjoys both fiction, such as authors Rachal Kushner, Margaret Atwood, David Foster Wallace, and Tom Robbins, as well as nonfiction, ranging in topics from animal behavior to psychology.
