Sounds Good To Him
William was excited to learn that his interests in physics and music had an application in acoustical consulting. As an Associate on TEECOM’s Acoustics team, he enjoys the fact that his work improves the wellbeing of building users. While happy doing calculations in a spreadsheet, he also spends time taking measurements on site, either to inform design or for commissioning. William also works with TEECOM’s R&D team to develop software tools that help process calculations more efficiently.
William started playing guitar at age eight. He’s never had any formal training beyond high school band, but he’s played guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, and even electric organ. He’s particularly interested in the science of recording and how digital modifications in production create a sonic landscape.
You Versus The Rock
William’s chosen sport is rock climbing. He enjoys how it combines mental problem-solving with physical exertion, how it can provide all the exercise one could need, and how, rather than being competitive against others, it is “you versus the rock.”
Go West, Young Man
William’s move from Texas to California inspired him to explore the new terrain. He has hiked and explored northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and Montana. He’s started a mission to visit all the U.S. National Parks and has already been to more than 20 percent of them. William appreciates how parks combine natural beauty, outdoor recreation, preservation, and education.
