PeopleSoft Headquarters – now Oracle
Pleasanton, CA
Overview
The former PeopleSoft campus, now Oracle, first began with a comprehensive site plan that envisioned a full build-out of campuses north and south of the freeway. TEECOM engineered complete redundancy of the data center to every building on campus to eliminate any concern of a single point of failure. This 4-phase, 7-building campus, included over 1,000,000 sf of building space, 10 labs, and a separate 60,000 sf corporate data center.

TEECOM’s Contribution
PeopleSoft engaged TEECOM to create design criteria, provide engineering, and coordinate services for the physical security system of Building G Site 56. This included access control and alarm monitoring, CCTV, blue phone, and intercom systems. Along the way, TEECOM culled information from the project manager to create unified standards for future construction. Critical to the project’s successful completion, TEECOM provided construction administration that kept the client’s interests foremost in contractors’ minds and ensured that installations met set standards.

Behind the Walls
In order to accommodate the vast amount of cables, TEECOM designed a customized 48-inch wide, 6-inch deep, double-stacked tray. The system was by far the largest TEECOM had ever imagined, let alone designed. TEECOM lobbied for approval from the City of Pleasanton and the Fire Marshal for approval to implement the tray, which brought PeopleSoft incredible cabling flexibility.
