Studying audio production at the Art Institute of Seattle gave Adam insight into a career in audiovisual engineering. Although he started his journey in the AEC industry as a drafter, his passion for problem-solving and troubleshooting led him to pursue engineering. As a Principal Consultant at TEECOM, Adam wears many hats, working in telecom, audiovisual, security, and wireless design. He believes in asking his clients the right questions and takes the time to find the best possible responses.
Living His Best Dad Life
Adam enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle and their three kids, whether they take walks together, ride bikes, play bocce ball, or play Mario Kart (Adam’s 10-year-old wrecks him). Adam belongs to a big family all located in the greater Washington State area. He takes his kids to visit their cousins and second cousins at bi-annual mini-reunions. These festivities include soccer tournaments, food, and lots of fun!
Adam’s love for tinkering with electronic music started in middle school with his old Macintosh computer. In high school, he and a friend spun records, mixed songs, and made beats. Adam prefers the trance sub-genre of electronic music. He most enjoys harmonic mixing, which consists of creatively combining songs that have the same key signature and similar tempo. Although he has retired from the rave life, Adam still enjoys the opportunity to spin and do sound for weddings of his friends and family.
During college, Adam spent downtime on the internet discovering circuit bending and made ‘speak and spells’ spit unique sounds. He would visit the local Goodwill or surf eBay to find old electronics he could take apart, short out different circuits, and wire them together to make weird sounds. Circuit bending requires both creativity and luck, as finding sounds with a consistent form often presents a challenge. Adam uses the eccentric sounds he creates in his electronic music.
