While studying engineering and music in college, Elisabeth discovered audiovisual and acoustical consulting and knew it was the career for her. Consulting combines Elisabeth’s technical acumen and strength of communication in a way that appeals to her puzzle-solving nature. She enjoys working on projects that challenge her to innovate, which makes her a perfect fit for TEECOM’s creative clients.
When it comes to working out, Elisabeth hits her local rock climbing gym. It’s a great way for her to feel energized, get an adrenaline rush, and challenge herself to do something different. She prefers top roping, where a climber is securely attached to a rope which then passes up, through an anchor system at the top of the climb, and down to a belayer at the foot of the climb. She either brings a friend to catch up with while she climbs or meets new people to partner with. Beyond the social aspects and physical challenges of climbing, she says it works her mind as she views the wall as a puzzle with multiple solutions.
Bassoon for the People
Elisabeth has played the bassoon for over twenty years and loves it so much she achieved a B.M. in Bassoon Performance from The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins. Now, she plays with local groups such as the Oakland Civic Orchestra, providing free concerts to the public. Her goal is to help make classical music more accessible to the masses, and to advocate for art programs in public schools. As she plays and creates music with a group, she feels she is promoting growth and awareness of classical music in a contemporary world, and she has a lot of fun doing it.
Backpack to Nature
Hiking is Elisabeth’s outlet of choice to escape her urban environment. Carrying only the essentials, she packs up and heads to the mountains in search of fresh air and beautiful scenery. Her most recent excursion was a two-week backpacking trip to Alberta, Canada roaming all over Banff and Jasper. The Rocky Mountains are her favorite place to return to with their snow-peaked mountains and diverse climates, where you never know what weather to expect. Elisabeth is fascinated by the different things nature can offer and how it forces you to come prepared and pay attention to the beauty that surrounds you.
