Grant’s love of the Autodesk BIM software Revit has shaped his career, driving him to lead BIM on extremely complex projects. He jumps at the chance to figure out ways to streamline Revit workflows, creating content and automation possibilities. “I’m always trying to think parametrically about how one item can serve multiple purposes,” he says.
Of course, sometimes you just want a great beer, a burger, and a movie. Grant finds all three at his favorite local movie theater, which serves up films and French fries. It’s the best of both worlds and gives him and his family some quality relaxation and fun time.
Aiming at Outdoors
When he’s not exploring Revit, Grant loves exploring the Oregon coast and Mount Hood range. Weekends, he frequently takes off for some camping and shooting under the open sky, navigating the local wilderness by the back of his hand. This probably comes from living within seven miles of where he grew up, and the skills he learned travelling with the US Army.
Grant also finds adventure between the pages of a book. He particularly enjoys zombie apocalypse fiction. His favorite author in this genre is Mira Grant, whose series he was introduced to by his wife. Post-apocalyptic literature ties directly into his love of exploration, outdoor recreation and self-reliance.
