Nate’s interest in IT began at a young age when he worked with sound equipment. After providing IT support at a public defender’s office, he went back to school to study Network Systems Administration. After receiving his degree, Nate started working for a school district as a computer tech and progressed to Director of IT. He enjoys understanding how things work and solving puzzles. At TEECOM, Nate would like to increase systems automation and advance his coding skills.
Nate’s high level of natural curiosity keeps him very intrigued about how things work and gives him a more complete understanding of any given topic. One of his recent projects consisted of building drones and having them fly from point of view camera. Nate recently set up a home lab that enables him to test software on his own network.
Nate’s journey as a vegan started with his concern for animal rights and continued as he learned more about health and environmental impacts, including water usage. He learned by observing animal behavior and spending hours on YouTube. Nate enjoys cooking and discovering 100% plant-based restaurants. Some of his favorite local spots include Golden Lotus, La Chancita, and artisan gelato and donut shops. He loves to find new recipes to try at home.
Nate’s family enjoyed camping while he was growing up. He enjoys taking time away from technology and going outdoors. Nate started solo and hammock camping because it forces a meditative reset. Some of his favorite places include the surrounding areas of Lake Tahoe and Sequoia National Forest. Nate mostly enjoys places in California, where vast forest systems offer hiking and ad-hoc exploring. His ideal spot is somewhere isolated, without the touristy gimmicks where he can bring his ax and saw.
