From All Angles
Though Rob studied product design, his BIM career really began when he took an apprenticeship at a structural engineering firm. There, he got his introduction to Revit and eventually worked his way up to BIM/CAD manager. The challenge of designing the technology that lines a building’s infrastructure was what drew him to TEECOM. Often dealing with complex, unique design constraints, he is able to pull from his diverse background to creatively solve problems. As a BIM Specialist in our Brighton office, working on projects all over the globe, he is fascinated by all the unseen information, the data, that makes everyone’s lives easier.
Brighton is just fifteen minutes from Lewes, town of Sussex, where Rob visits the area’s oldest breweries, micropubs, and the occasional beer festival. And what pairs better with beer than barbecue?! Rob also hosts an annual New Year’s Eve cook-out in Brighton with close friends. Thanks to his start in product design, he uses a meat smoker he modeled in Revit himself and made from a 55 gallon oil drum.
Gimli the Great
Meet Rob’s flat mate, Gimli. He’s an adventure seeker, digger/garden pruner, and beach bum. You can find Rob taking Gimli all over Brighton and Hove and sometimes having to drag him out of bars at 3 a.m…but what are best friends for? Follow @gimlibatpig for very necessary Frenchie cuteness.
Need for Speed
Rob is a huge fan of Formula One and MotoGP and even has his own motorcycle, a Honda VFR. He received his moto license before his regular driver’s license and loves that daily two-wheel commute. He watches races and attends biking events in Sussex when he can — although most of his time is spent with the dog these days. Can’t blame him.
