JCC Mammoth Lakes Courthouse
Mammoth Lakes, CA
Overview
The Mammoth Lakes Court project involved the construction of a new two-courtroom 23,000 sf courthouse for use by the Superior Court of California, County of Mono. The new courthouse, which replaced an inadequate leased courtroom, provides enhanced security with improved spaces for judicial services and is designed to withstand the harsh elements of its location, including year-round snow.

TEECOM’s Contribution
TEECOM provided an integrated approach across all technology systems. Our team designed the MPOE Room and MDF/Server Room for shared equipment and telecommunication/technology needs. Specific security systems included access control and alarm monitoring, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and parking and sallyport control interfaces. Audiovisual presentation and sound masking systems were included in the courtroom design.

Behind the Walls
The integrated access control system (ACAMS) and intrusion detection system (IDS) allows alarm events to be viewed, reported, and recorded for historical purposes by both systems. The video surveillance system (VSS) also interfaces with the ACAMS and IDS system to allow linking of video clips to security systems alarm events. To provide maximum security for courthouse employees, the first floor lobby includes a screening station, a security workstation, and a duress button connected to the IDS system and VSS cameras. Proximity card readers and duress alarm buttons are located throughout the building for authorized staff to enter and exit locations and for emergency purposes.
